In our own nature
It may be one thing for adults to experience lockdown due to the pandemic, but it was often harder for children to comprehend the experience of not seeing their friends, whether schooled by the state or at home. Many of us found ourselves confined to our homes, and gardens if we were privileged to have one. Regular activities stopped or transformed into online 2D screens. It was Spring and then Summer and hope came from nature in abundance, as new shoots sprouted, insects and animals got active and flowers became fruits. We became more aware of what was growing in gardens, parks, woods and the countryside, air was cleaner and the roads quiet.
In this time of quietness and metamorphosis, as all of us in some way have been changed by the experience -whether learning new technology skills etc.., I decided to set an online artclub for my grandchildren, friends' children and their friends to focus on the positives of the natural world and enjoy painting.
